7/16 Last day to demand Net Neutrality

There’s little time to spare if you haven’t already visited the Campaign to Save the Net and told the FCC to ensure Net Neutrality.  Without it, you are going to find that the Net you know is not the one that survives, because the Telcos will be free to start cutting deals with providers based on the content of the site.   In other words, corporate approved messages will zip right through for lowest cost; alternative messages not funded by corporate bucks?  Well, sorry, you can have the equivalent of the 300 baud modem lane …  Want to host a site that reports on the polluters and the exploiters — hmmm, so sorry, those are our best advertisers!  Want to host a site that digs into the candidates and tells what they’re really up to?  Hmmm, so sorry, the candidates have bought the priority bandwidth, so you little site will take a week to download.  Etc. etc.

Without net neutrality, your will have the same right to free speech on the net that a man holding a cardboard sign has while standing in a dark corner next to the Las Vegas strip.  Sure, knock yourself out with your sign …
