The Oregonian has published the names of all the Oregon soldiers who have been killed or wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq, a majority of them being in Iraq.

Some of them came from Portland. Others came from the other corners of Oregon such as Hermiston and Klamath Falls. Some have left family members behind who disagree about the war in Iraq. Others died together as best friends.

Will the Oregonian be republishing this list in one year from now with additions? And will we see it again in two years with 50 more names on it?

We’re past due for an exit strategy.
